After stealing my Mom’s aqua and white Christmas tree theme last year, I created a Midsummer Night’s Dream Christmas tree theme with jewel tones for her place. Here’s a look at her jewel tones Christmas tree theme this year.
This year, I changed only a few things – I gave her the ethereal, sheer gold and aqua ribbon from the aqua Christmas tree theme (I think the white I used last year was too much of a contract), and then I made a few more ornaments. The DIY clay stars and moons, the velvet and felt mushrooms, and the acrylic discs with celestial designs are all projects I meant to make last year, but ran out of time. The DIY beaded dragonflies I had started last year, but hadn’t finished in time, so this year I made more! We also adjusted her tree skirt a bit, and my Mom made more ribbon flowers for it.
Midsummer Night’s Dream Mantel Decor
This year I also changed up the mantel decor a bit: I reused the faux garland and little battery operated lights we’ve had for years. I also repurposed the faux blooms we used last year (in a vase), but this time wove them into the garland. Lastly, I added some extra ornaments that didn’t make the cut for the tree – and a pair of metal butterflies we thrifted.
Midsummer Night’s Dream Christmas Tree Theme Ornaments
Other than the new ornaments I made (all of which I already had supplies for), the only truly new thing we bought new for her tree this year was one blown glass clip on mushroom ornament! Last year had purchased some neat ornaments (find links and ideas here), so we reused all of that. Here are the links to the tutorials for all of the ornaments I made:

Floral Tree Skirt DIY
Here’s a closer look at the floral tree skirt. We upcycled an old tablecloth and layered on some leftover sheer fabrics we had, embellished with beads here and there and also the wired ribbon flowers my Mom makes. I will share a tutorial for this!
