From the kitchen to the powder room, the laundry room to my nutty secret room, so many spaces in the lakehouse are begging to be renovated, but one room forced its way to the top of our to-do list: the bunkie bathroom!
The leaking shower stall had caused so much damage to the sub-floor that it was soft and dangerously squishy in some areas. We decided that until we renovated the bathroom, no one could stay in our cute little three season guesthouse anymore, which is such a shame because it’s adorable inside (and out – with a better view of the lake than our master bedroom!).
When Lowe’s Canada, a long-time blog partner and my go-to for renovation supplies, reached out about collaborating on a renovation, I immediately pitched my bunkie bathroom for a top to bottom makeover. Thanks to amazing finds from Lowe’s, I’ve designed a really cool bathroom that plays up the Scandinavian vibes of the original pine walls and makes the most of the tiny footprint. Read more about that in my guest blog post, Planning a Small Bathroom Makeover – where I’ve shared all my plans. From a bold tile choice and a perfectly petite vanity, to a gorgeous mid-century modern inspired sconce and chic matte black faucet, I’ve outlined my entire renovation project. I’m also sharing my plans for using a stock tank as a shower and turning the door into a sliding barn door (check out how Lowe’s did it here)!
We’re currently in full renovating mode and the room has been completely gutted (except for the pine). But before we tore everything out, I snapped a few more before photos because I only ever shared a quick glimpse in the lakehouse tour. If you’re curious about my renovation plans, and want to see the hilarious way the door to the bathroom hit the shower and the door to the shower hit the vanity, pop over to the Lowe’s Canada blog to check out my design and see more photos.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram for sneak peeks and progress! The full reveal will be shared on the Lowe’s blog, so be sure to check out how I fare, as well as Lowe’s other partners! Don’t forget to follow Lowe’s Canada on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to stay in the loop.
Can’t wait to see those elements in place!

I’m so happy you’re excited about this project. I’m excited to see it come together too because right now everything is ripped out and it’s looking worse haha…
I really love it! Once its done you guys are going to have to camp out here every once and a while! Would you ever consider AirBNB’ing the bunkie?

I love the idea to camp out there! We’ve definitely hung out there a bit – the deck has such a perfect view. I want to put it on Airbnb but hubby is not a fan of that idea.
