We are so obsessed with making smoothies around here that I have actually burned out the motor on three blenders in eight years. The most recent one gave up the ghost this summer, so I had to borrow my Mom’s blender to make these protein ice pops with Naked Nutrition. I might just keep it. We made more smoothies than ever this year, because it was such a hot summer – but I’m not complaining. I’m actually hoping we will still have a warm fall too. More time to enjoy these protein packed ice pops!
For this recipe I partnered with Naked Nutrition, a brand that specializes in supplements and protein powders – without additives. They use premium ingredients, with as few ingredients as possible, and they’re totally transparent about what goes into their supplements and protein powders. I am thrilled to collaborate because protein powders are a pantry staple around here (see all of Naked Nutrition’s protein powders here). Now I have a new favorite: Naked Nutrition’s Powdered Peanut Butter. I love it because it’s JUST peanuts! No added sugar, salt, or oil, so it has fewer calories and fewer grams of fat per serving than spreadable peanut butter. But in a smoothie, it lends the same delicious flavor! It’s an easy way to add some plant-based protein to a smoothie, with something that’s more shelf stable than a jar of peanut butter. Plus this powdered peanut butter is so smooth and silky – it blends instantly and would be so perfect in oatmeal or yoghurt, or pancake recipes.
Protein Ice Pops Recipe:
- 1 banana (fresh or frozen – chopped)
- 1 cup frozen fruit (I used mixed berries)
- 1 cup milk or dairy-free substitute (I used oat)
- 1 cup yoghurt or dairy-free substitute (I used coconut dairy-free yoghurt)
- 2 scoops Naked Nutrition powdered peanut butter
How to Make Protein Ice Pops:
- Combine ingredients and blend until smooth
- Pour into ice pop mold
- Freeze
- Pour cool water into a bowl and let mold sit in the water for a minute to help release the pops
- Twist to release
- Enjoy your delicious fruit pop, packed with protein and NO added sugar!
These protein ice pops are DELICIOUS! Like a peanut butter & jam sandwich, lol. They’re fruity and filling – the perfect treat for a warm day!
P.S. Don’t Forget to Pin for Later!
