If you liked my DIY mini faux flower ornaments, here’s a way to create the same vibe for Valentine’s Day – with an easy DIY Valentine’s Day Jar Gift Idea! I partnered with Bernardin to create an Instagram Reel for this project, but decided to share it here so you can see it too!
Here’s a look back at the DIY floral ornaments I’m talking about:
Here’s The Video Tutorial for These Jars:

Supplies:
- Bernadin Canning Jars (I used the 500ML size)
- Small Faux Flowers
- Faux Pearl Beads (with a flat side works best)
- Hot Glue Gun and glue sticks
- Decorative Paper (I Used a Wallpaper Sample!)
- Mini Sticker Letters or Hearts (if you have a Cricut, you can really have some fun!)
- Homemade treats (like these gummy candies) or pink Jelly beans!
Notes on supplies: although I always link similar supplies, I encourage you to upcycle, or shop thrift store craft supplies when/if you can. If you have wallpaper scraps or old cards from years past, you can use those to decorate the jar lid. You could also make mini flowers from paper (if you have a mini floral paper punch), or ribbon (if you have some scraps around). And of course this is a great way to upcycle any jars you have at home! Although I love buying craft supplies, it can also be a fun creative challenge to use what we have on hand in fresh new ways.
How to Make These DIY Valentine’s Day Treat Jars:
- Use a hot glue gun to affix a cascading arrangement of mini faux flowers and faux pearls onto the outside of the glass jars.
- Attach the flowers one at a time, and glue on faux pearls amongst the blooms.
- Check periodically to make sure the lid can still be screwed on!
- To create a decorative lid, use the metal lid to trace a circle onto a wallpaper sample or any pretty paper.
- Add a customized message with sticker letters.
- Fill jars with homemade or store-bought treats!
(Check out the Reel for the detailed tutorial).
I think these faux flower covered jars turned out so pretty! These flowers are from the craft stash I inherited from my grandma when she passed, so it was extra special to create this craft project. Long after the treats are gone, these will be a fun way to store hair clips and odds and ends. I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY Valentine jar craft and feel inspired to make your own DIY Valentine jar gift. There are a lot of ways to personalize this easy DIY Valentine’s Day jar gift idea: fill with homemade treats, decorate with handmade ribbon or paper flowers, add a special message to the lid with mini sticker letters…
Filling Ideas for a Valentine Treat Jar:
There are endless options for filling a DIY Valentine treat jar, from homemade gummy candies to pink jelly beans (my pick!). But you can also get creative with homemade brownie mixes or non-candy items, like hair accessories (picture this filled with pink scrunchies) or 100 cute little messages written in pink pen. The contents do not have to cost any money to be meaningful and much appreciated.
