I’ve been hinting at some serious crafting happening in the lakehouse and I’m excited to finally be able to spill the beans about what I’ve been making!
By now you know that Leon’s Furniture launched a great new blog this year. Hello Yellow features DIY projects, room makeovers, renovation stories, practical tips (like how to care for your appliances), and so much more. I’ve been contributing posts, along with a group of fabulously talented bloggers.
For the holidays, Leon’s launched something special: Hello Holiday, a digital guide with 92 (!) pages of inspiration: crafts, recipes, holiday decorating ideas, and a peek at some gorgeous furniture! You can find the whole magazine by clicking here. If you see a project or room you like, just click on the image and it will take you to the full how-to post on Hello Yellow!

This week I’ll be sharing a closer look at the four projects I contributed, with some behind the scenes details and links to the full posts – in case you didn’t spot them in the guide!
I’d love to know what you think about Hello Holiday. I’m incredibly proud to have played even a small role in such a great holiday guide. It seems the holidays came so early this year (seriously – Christmas ornaments before Halloween?!?) and I’m totally resenting the Christmas music already playing in stores, but so many of the ideas in Hello Holiday are perfectly wintry and cozy so the timing feels just right! I’m going to be trying out some of the recipes just to snack on – forget holiday entertaining!
Beautifully done! I'd be excited to be a part of it too! 🙂 Love it!
So happy to hear you enjoyed flipping through it! I'll be sure to pass on your kind words. I just contributed my photos and text, so it was so exciting for me to see the magazine "magically" come together!
That's so awesome! I'll definitely be taking some time to pour over those pages!
Me again! Ok, I just went through it and it's amazing! You ladies did an amazing job.. I'm so so inspired!
So happy you liked it! We were given free rein over projects, so it's really interesting to see how everyone's style is so different.
Loved the whole issue, instantly put me in the mood for the holidays! Especially enjoyed your fireplace and aqua trees. Very striking against that deep gray of the fireplace.
I know – I immediately felt less angry about the impending snow because some of the spaces in the magazines looked so cozy and comfy and wintry. It reminded me that winter can be good! I'm so happy you like my mantle styling. I blew my whole budget on bottle brush trees because I was a little fanatic about bleaching and dyeing them. It was so much fun, and something I'd been wanting to try for ages.
I'm so inspired right now!
So happy to hear that! Let me know if you try any of the recipes or projects – I'd love to see 🙂
Will have to check it out – the teaser images look great! Truly inspiring. BTW: Love the new look of your site!
Let me know what you think when you've had a chance to peruse it! I think you'll LOVE some of the ideas because there are some truly unique projects in there. And thanks! I finally stopped going the DIY route and bought a template, which I customized. I've been tweaking it all weekend and was wondering if folks would notice… 🙂
This looks awesome. And I'm ready for it already. Plans for decorating are brewing. Going to go check hello holidays!
Oh good – so glad I'm not forcing the holiday stuff to early! When do you start to deck the halls?
*too early. Jeez, my typos are getting worse, lol!
My rule for myself was dec 1st but since both my kids birthdays are the first week of December, I now wait until after their b-day dinner I host for family. Makes it feel more about their b-day if the house isn't yet decorated for xmas,
Awww, that's so sweet and thoughtful of you to wait! Growing up, I had friends with December birthdays and they complained that family rolled their birthdays in with the holidays, and they felt so short-changed.
