The Kitchen Needed More Turquoise | Turquoise Pots and Pans

The other day I was thinking that my turquoise kitchen could really use a little more turquoise and I realized that turquoise pots and pans were the answer!

Kate Spade Turquoise Pots and Pans

Turquoise Non-Stick Pots

These Kate Spade non-stick pots and pans should do the trick!

Since adopting a healthier lifestyle last fall, I’ve been relying heavily on the one non-stick pan in my arsenal – stolen from Mom’s kitchen (shhhh)!  My own pots and pans are a hodgepodge of hand-me-downs, so when offered me anything – anything! – from their incredible inventory, my heart was immediately set on some new pots and pans.  Kate Spade? Non-stick? Turquoise? SOLD! generously sent me the 2 and 4 Quart Sauce Pans, the 6 Quart Casserole, plus the 8 and 10″ Fry Pan Set from the Kate Spade All in Good Taste collection (they come in other, equally cheery colours).  I actually waited a few days to open everything because the packaging on these turquoise pots and pans was too cute!

Aaaand they’re amazing!  Not only do they look cute, but cooking in them is a dream.  They heat up quickly and I have been able to whip up some delicious, healthy dinners with only a teeny splash of grape seed oil.  I used to batch cook a few times a week and coast on leftovers, but for the last six months or so I’ve been cooking a fresh dinner almost every night and have even upped my lunchtime game, eschewing my sandwiches for healthier fare with fewer carbs.  But I’d be lying if I said I loved cooking.  I love eating and I especially love eating foods that make me feel healthy, so that means logging some hours in the kitchen.

Luckily, I’ve got a kitchen I love to spend time in.  The cheery turquoise cabinets, the beautiful view of Lake Superior, and my open shelving with every piece of turquoise kitchenware under the sun still make me smile.  Pulling out my new turquoise pots and pans makes whipping up a meal even more enjoyable – they are seriously fun!

That’s what I appreciate about the vibrant, curated collection of finds from so many pieces are about upgrading and elevating the everyday.  They stock a carefully chosen selection of home décor pieces, men’s and women’s accessories, and also some really cool tech pieces, that are colourful and inspired.

Everything stocks is sure to put a smile on your face and so many of the items they sell are pretty versions of practical things you’ll use everyday – which I love.  In a small home, I don’t have room for too many strictly pretty things – most things need to have a function, too.  I actually found so many items to covet on, including a turquoise Dansk pan (drool) and a whole bevy of gorgeous statement necklaces – that choosing was difficult.  But having a favorite color makes things a little easier…

As a bonus, let me choose another, random item and I picked this LED “lantern” by Time Concept, which is so perfect for our updated Ticon 30 sailboat!  It runs on four batteries and is so bright, it can light up the whole cabin of our boat, which is nice because the lighting situation in there leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks Amy, that's so nice to hear! Over the years I've always had requests from readers to share more of me: more personal stories, more pictures of me in my home – I think it can feel sterile when a home is photographed empty. This year my goal has been to share more! Good luck on the contest! The prize is so awesome, I'd love if one of my regular readers one – fingers crossed for you πŸ™‚

Thank you! I wasn't sure exactly what shade they would be and was pleasantly surprised when they ended up almost exactly the same shade as my cabinets – just a shade lighter. They come in other colours, too – all beautiful.

Awww, thank you Margiene! I am so happy with my kitchen and it was easy on the wallet too! Two years later and it still makes me smile :DMy apron is vintage, $2 from Value Village! It needed a small repair, but it's perfect now. I love wearing it when I'm cooking for guests because it feels fancy with the sheer fabric. It's reversible too! I'd love to copy the design and make some more in different patterns.

I may be wrong but I always assumed you lived in Canada since you deal with Canadian Tire all the time.I went to and found some great items only to discover when I tried to check out they don't ship to Canada πŸ™

I do live in Canada and have been fortunate to work with great Canadian brands like Leon's Furniture and Canadian Tire. I try to work with Canadian brands as often as I can, but I just can't seem to secure as many collaborations with Canadian brands as US brands. Because of press/features, my readership typically consists of way more American than Canadian readers, so US brands are happy to work with me. I try to pick brands based on how I shop and because I live 10 minutes from the US border, I do shop a lot across the border and have things shipped to a P.O. box in Minnesota. I try so very hard to shop Canadian, but it's not always possible. I am always looking to collaborate more with Canadian brands for my Canadian readers – and try to feature Canadian products in non-sponsored posts – and I really wish there were more Canadian sponsorship opportunities for me. I try to at least make sure companies I partner with ship to Canada, but sometimes I have sponsored posts just for my US readers. I know that's a bummer and I'm sorry about that. I completely understand your concerns. I'm happy will ship to Canadians πŸ™‚

Thank you so much Brenda! I recently chopped it off so it's still funny getting used to shorter hair (I absentmindedly try to pull it into a ponytail at least once a day, lol), but I'm loving it!

Hi Tanya,I love your site, your hair and your kitchen…When my hubby and I finally buy a home, your kitchen is definitely in my kitchen goals. :)I'm not sure if you saw my email, so I'll leave a comment here. I am really interested in the Kate Spade Cookware, but finding reviews on them hasn't been easy. And the only one I did find was a negative. She said the bottom enamel peeled off after a few months of use.Since this post was made back in June, and you've had plenty of time to break these babies in, how are they? Are they holding up well? I absolutely them and their color, but I'm not sure if they are worth the price. And hubby and I are saving for a house but really need pans, so I want to make sure this is a good investment. If you could let me know, I'd forever be grateful. Thanks so much!!

So happy you like the kitchen! I didn't see your email, I'm so sorry! I just recently got an iPhone and merged all of my email accounts into the one mailbox so maybe it slipped through in the process?I use these pots every day and I have not had any enamel peel off. I have burnt some things to the bottom outside (I'm a messy cook) and so they're a tad discolored. But still fully enameled and bright turquoise. The insides are a little bit discolored from use, I guess the coating is a bit more worn in places than others? The metal knobs on the lids get super hot, which is one drawback (plastic would be smarter). I also have hand-me-down pots that are better non-stick inside but I use these daily because they make me happy.I wouldn't say these are cheap but I wouldn't say these are pass down to the kids good quality. I have picked up better random pots and pans at places like HomeSense and HomeGoods. These are exactly what I expected from Kate Spade. I find that everything she designs, from clothing to handbags to jewelry, is good but not great. That's just my personal opinion, but I love her stuff for the style not the quality. I think you pay disproportionately for the name and style but admit that it is decent quality.I would definitely buy these if I needed pots and pans, but maybe not if I had major money saving goals. Let's put it this way, if they weren't turquoise I would NOT buy them. But they're decent quality, the perfect color, great sizes, so on the whole they're great. That's always my test for quality: would I love this if it were black, lol. Then I would probably say these pans are just okay. But if your budget is so tight that these pots need to last a long time while you save for a house, renos, etc., then maybe you need to spend a bit more and get some serious quality pots and pans. On the other hand, I've had these around eight months with just a little wear and they really do brighten my day. I love cooking in them.Gosh, such a long answer. It's tricky because I like them, they work well, but I don't know if I'd go so far as to recommend them as an investment. They're more of a fun kitchen purchase that's useful too.I'm happy to send you photos of the wear if you're curious. I hope this is somewhat helpful? If you're really on the fence, you could buy a small piece from the set and test it out yourself.

Thanks so much for your response, your such a sweetheart! No worries about the email since I was able to catch you here.Like you, I live, breathe and swoon over anything aqua/turquoise…So in pan buying they also have to be pretty as well a practical/functional. I do all the cooking in the house might as well have pans that make me happy while doing it, right? I don't know why, but as I slowly acquire aqua/turquoise kitchen items, I actually like to cook/bake/even do the dishes. Call me crazy, but its true. I'm not looking for anything to last a lifetime. I have two boys, so I'm not sure they are going to appreciate hand me down heirloom quality turquoise pans…lol So the pans just need to handle me. I know I said I was looking for an investment, but maybe I worded that wrong? I just don't want to put money into something that isn't worth it. I've never bought from Kate Spade, so I really have no idea the quality of her stuff. The pans I currently have are from HomeGoods, and have served their purpose. I have been looking at other aqua/turquoise cookware and they all seem to have issues. I'm not sure anything is ever fool proof. And while our budget is tight since we're saving for a home, I still need to cook, and pans are a necessity. Anyway, I've got a coupon so that is definitely makes this purchase a plus!I was planning on ordering one like you said and trying it out. So great minds think alike! πŸ˜€ Like I said, I was looking for some feedback since there is practically nothing about them online. So I appreciate everything you've laid out about them. I guess the lack of reviews might be good, since people are often prone to leave negative feedback more so than positive?Thank you so much for getting back to me, I feel better in my decision. -S.K.

Oh, I'm always happy to talk about things that are turquoise – that's my favorite topic, lol. I totally understand how cheery kitchen wares make cooking more fun. I am in agreement! These pans meet that criteria for sure.If you're not thinking of a lifetime investment, these aren't a bad bet. They're not culinary grade or remarkable, but they do the job and look good doing it. I should have mentioned that I do hand wash them though. Can't remember if that's because you have to or because I just love extra work. Usually the dishwasher is too full for pots so I just quickly pour some soap in there and wash them by hand – nothing really sticks so it's easy. I think you're right, people tend to be pretty vocal about products that fail so maybe a lack of reviews means most people are happy with these. Knowing a bit more about your needs/wants I'm more comfortable recommending them. I haven't experienced the peeling issue. I hope you enjoy them!

Hi I love your kitchen, it’s beautiful. I’m looking to do a little bit of an update on mine and I was wondering what color and brand of paint are your cabinets because I love it and I’m finding it hard to pick the right one for my cabinets. Thank you!
