I hope you get good results too! I’m still hoping to experiment a little more with it, but it’s been difficult to find nice vintage furniture around here to refinish.

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve never seen that locally, but I’ll try to track it down online to try it out.

I love Old English too. It covers scratches rehydrates the wood too. It is also pretty cheap and lasts a long time.

I would contact the manufacturer about that. Finishes don’t always like to work together. My father in law is a woodworker and he really likes a certain clear coat, whereas I was partial to a certain stain, and when it came to clear coating a project I stained, the two DID NOT cooperate, lol. My FIL spent a lot of time on the phone with the manufacturer to figure out what went wrong. So if you want to varnish this, ask them first what they recommend.

Good question! I had dinner there the other day (more than a year later) and my Mom and I were commenting that it still looks really good! But I think the original condition, and how much damage there was, affects how well and how long this type of “quick fix” lasts. I think it’s best on a very lightly worn piece.
