Building out that bump out is a good idea – I just have to check with the landlord first… unless we make a temporary something. Thanks for the idea! Around here, FB marketplace and the classifieds are very disappointing because it’s a small little city but I have been checking every day just in case! Maybe with everyone decluttering so hard right now, I’ll get lucky haha!

Perhaps you could build up the weird bump out to be a pedestal. You could put a plant, vase bust, lamp or something on it.
Stores are closed, but Facebook Marketplace isn’t. Also maybe you have Nextdoor.com, ask for the kind of table you want or look at their sale items.

That’s an interesting idea! I have also considered giving my Mom my dining table (which is the pair to those chairs) and building something different for myself… But now you’ve got me thinking! Thanks!

After looking at those dining room chairs and hearing about the table vendor backing out it is obvious to me that you should be DIYing a roundtable top with a pedesetal base.

The bones of this home are very good – I think it was exceptionally beautiful before converted into apartments. That’s where some weird things happened and some bad 80s choices were made, haha. And the beautiful old radiator in the dining room just failed, so the landlord put in the baseboard heaters and the old heater was SO gorgeous! We might keep the chairs, the only issue is they are not very comfy at all but we might have to make do and add some more padding to them. They match my dining table, so we both love the shape. I’m glad you like the direction this is going 🙂
