I know they don't answer emails or calls on the weekends, so it can seem a long time before you can hear from them, but I have asked to change things after I placed an order, and they always managed to work it in. I am sorry you got a bad rep on the phone. You should email them and let them know how you were treated, I am sure they will make it right.

In reply to Mac n' Janet. Try again, you just have to find a style that works for you. I am short and round too, but I have found that empire waisted dresses with a drawstring, or a button-down shirtdress looks good on me. Of course, you can tell I am short and round anyway, but I feel good in them. I avoid the wide waistbands. I love the cotton or rayon dresses the best, they are so comfortable!

I ate to admit it, but I probably have 25 (or more) eShakti dresses! It all started when I needed a dress for my son’s wedding. I have an awful time finding dresses that fit, because I have a hernia that makes me look pregnant, and I am already a plus size. I was looking for a dress on another website and someone commented about eShakti, so I looked it up. I plugged in all my measurements and ordered a few dresses. I changed something on each one, so they were all custom made to my size and height and modified to what I wanted. I got them, and was amazed that I could just take them out of the box and put them on, and they fit perfectly! One of them was an embroidered poplin dress, and it was hard to iron, so I returned it with no hassle at all. It ships from India, but you return them to a US address with a prepaid label. Since then, I have continued to buy dresses, always completely tailored to order. Customization is under $10 for everything. Not $10 for different sleeves, $10 for a different neckline, etc. but $10 for all the changes and the specific measurements. I even ask them to add a 2″ hem, so the hem doesn’t curl when I wash the dress. They added FX to most of the styles, so when you change sleeves, neckline, hemline, etc. you can see your changes. This is hands-down, the best website for dresses! Great prices, quality fabrics, pockets in all the dresses, unless you ask them to delete them, no-hassle returns, and a million choices of styles to choose from. They are always adding styles, so if you don’t see anything you want today, check back tomorrow! Don’t be afraid, order something!

That’s frustrating you never heard back. I don’t know how you contacted them but I have better luck sometimes messaging a brand on social media (either a DM or a comment) than I do with emails. Brands seem more inclined to look like they respond when it’s a public forum and, even if they don’t respond, sometimes customers will message you to help. I also don’t understand why they let popular styles sell out permanently – but I guess they’ve figured out a business model that works for them. Glad to hear your dresses all turned out great!

I found Eshakti 6 years ago and bought 6 dresses. They all turned out great.
You’re right… the dresses do run out of stock quicker now.
Some of the styles were a bit outrageous given the style and pattern but this company has to appeal to everyone on the planet.
The only 2 criticisms I have lately is the lack of response from customer service. I asked which fabric was thinner…jersey knit or cotton knit. Im a big women and look horrible in a thinner fabric. So I needed to know. Never got an answer.
I also asked why the cotton knits seem to only come in a few colors…black, blue, green, red.
Sometimes you get the occasional purple or pink but as someone who prefers knit, its frustrating.
Again no answer.
If they sell out fast they should restock more of the popular style.
I lovex the dresses I bought way back when. Keeping my fingers crossed on my next order.

I have purchased 5 dresses from eShakti. All of them customized as I have a long torso and large chest. Every dress has fit perfectly and very well made. I have received many compliments on them. After searching for months for a mother of the bride dress for my daughters upcoming wedding and finding nothing that fit correctly, I finally found the perfect style here and should be receiving my dress in the next few days. I was able to customize the style and fabric color to match her theme colors.
I have never had any issues I read in the negative reviews with any of the dresses I have ordered from eShakti since my first customized dress in 2018.

In reply to Karissa. That is such a bummer! Seriously disappointing. I'm so glad you took the time to leave a comment. It's good for people to hear multiple experiences before choosing to order/purchase. I was lucky, I only had good experiences, and I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. Sometimes I find it helps to call out a brand on social media. I have had some terrible customer service experiences until I left a public comment on Instagram and then, magically, my problems was resolved. I hate to recommend it, but if you're not happy speak up in a public way and hopefully you get a refund!

In reply to Jill. I just received 2 dresses as well and have the same issue with one of the zippers. Also they made one dress a v-neck when I asked for scoop, fabric was wrinkled and bunched up and then sewn into place like that, several stains around the neckline of one of the dresses. They offered me $20 store credit to get it cleaned and fixed by a local seamstress. Will a dry cleaner or seamstress accept $20 in eshakti store credit?? How will that help me? And it would cost more than $20. I also have a friend who works at FedEx who is dealing with sending back the dresses for me and she said that as far as she can tell Canada customs doesn’t have a record of eshakti remitting any fees to them (the package was marked as having no customs fees collected). Shady!! So far customer service has been disappointing and the quality of the material and sewing is some of the worst I’ve ever seen.
