I am so happy with this mid-century teak chair makeover! It’s such a fun addition to the guestroom. I bought it secondhand and it looked like this:
Previously, I had an inexpensive IKEA chair in this room, but I just felt like guests deserved a little more form and function! Picking the fabric was so much fun – but also a little nerve wracking because I decided to have this chair professionally recovered and it’s expensive so I wanted to get it right!
Yes, I had the chair professionally recovered. I’d be ashamed if I wasn’t so darn excited. But a good DIY-er knows when they are over their head. Plus, we have sooooo many projects in the townhouse, if this were left in our hands it might not see the light of day for years (that’s actually how I got it: another DIY gal realized she’d never get around to tackling it, and sold it to me!)
Here’s what the guestroom looks like:
This was the little reading corner:
The IKEA chair is off to a better place: the basement, for now. Which is slowly filling up with chairs. Seriously, there are now 2 kitchen chairs, 2 random chairs, 1 office chair, and now this chair. Plus a stool.
Here’s the corner now:

Lov ethe new chair! Looks great.
So gorgeous. I can't get over how amazing it is. Well done.
Thanks! That is a high compliment from you.
